Make The Most Of Your Social Media

Today we’ll be sharing some tips and tricks that we’ve picked up on how to make the most out of your brand’s social media! We probably don’t need to tell you how powerful social media is as a marketing tool. By now, most businesses understand that it plays a vital role in your success. 

So we’ll be giving you some general tips that should be applicable to most platforms, as well as some really useful apps to save you some time. However it’s important to remember that there is no one perfect formula, so have fun with it and make it your own!

Tip 1: Choosing your platforms

While this is a simple question, it’s an important one to consider. Especially if you’re a one-man show, you don’t want to spread yourself too thin. It’s better to have 2 or 3 very active and well-thought-out channels than to be on everything but not as active.

Consistency is the name of the game so don’t take on more than you have time for! It can be very overwhelming to try and make regular content for 5 different platforms.

There are two main things I would base this decision on, and those are “What does the majority of my target market use?” and “What do I use?”

You’ll obviously want to go where your customers are, but it also helps if you already understand the platform you’re using. So if you’ve personally got an Instagram and a TikTok account already, that would be a great place to launch your business from.

Part 2: What’s the goal?

You might be surprised to hear that one of the worst things you can do is try to sell something with every post. Your followers will get tired of it very quickly and won’t have anything to connect with. 

A great guideline for this is making sure that you follow the 80% – 20% rule, where 80% of your content provides either added value or entertainment, and only 20% are product posts. This way your followers will know what you have available, while having a solid reason to want to stick around. 

You should also encourage sharing and tagging as much as possible. If one of your customers tags you in a post with one of your products, shoot them a message and ask if you can share it on your page! 

You can even just share it directly to your stories. This will encourage more tagging and interaction (which is great for algorithms) and help create that all-important sense of community around your brand.

Part 3: Some helpful apps to use!

Number one is Captions App, this one’s most useful on TikTok as most people are watching with their sound off, and adding captions manually takes absolute ages, but this awesome app does it for you! This will save you a ton of time and your videos will instantly perform better.

Number two is InShot, it’s a great app for video editing, and it allows you to save TikTok videos without the watermark so you can use them on your IG reels as well! Instagram doesn’t like seeing the TikTok watermark on videos, so having a version without the watermark will help your reels to perform better.

Number three is Canva, it’s an incredibly easy to use yet surprisingly powerful graphic design app that lets you create beautiful posts and stories and even add animations! This is by far the quickest way we’ve found to make great looking graphic design for your brand

The fourth one is an app called Later which allows you to schedule Instagram, and now even TikTok posts to go out later, so you can sit and schedule your whole week or month’s posts in advance to save a ton of time!
